Steps And E-ako

In class we have to do steps and e-ako. E-ako is to improve our math skills. Steps is there to improve our word and punctuation skills. We have to try to do both each day.

On e-ako there are 9 different categories. Each level has some flags on it. The teacher says that we are only allowed to do the categories with the flags on them which for every person, the flags are in a different category.

On Steps there are so many levels I don’t know how many. On Steps I am on level 5. Everybody has to do Steps in a time that suits them. Right now we are all doing Steps at the same time. On Steps the teachers can see how long and what we have been doing.

Bubble Day

When I was about four years old we had a thing that could make giant bubbles. The bubbles could be up to 2 metres high and wide. In my class this and last Wednesday, koka Holly and koka Jo were in class. They told us that we would have a day that in our buzz groups, we would have  to make our own bubbles.

My buzz group chose to make unbreakable bubbles. Me and my buzz group then found two recipes from the internet. We chose the first one because the second recipe had glycerin and we didn’t know where to get glycerin from.

In the other recipe we needed white corn syrup which countdown and pak n save didn’t have. Because the shops didn’t have it we googled corn syrup substitute. It came up with that brown rice malt syrup worked just as well.

Just Dance

In this term we did Just dance. Just dance is a game that you can play on your computer. To play it you have to have a phone or a wii. You can just download it on your computer and your phone. On a Wii you have to buy the game from a store or the internet.

In MLH we don’t have a Wii and not everyone has their own phone.
We just do it on youtube and copy the moves of the projector. At home me and my family downloaded Just dance on our big screen.

At school I normally do Just dance songs with 4 people, 3 people, 2 people and songs with 1 person. I am normally in a group with Robbie, Angus and Mako. Even though we don’t have the controllers it is still very fun. My favorite dance is probably Waka Waka because you have to form a human bike.

Learning From Home

Back at school

I was really happy to be back at school because I finally got to see my friends again.

School started back in week 6. If you are confused, in the first 2 weeks of term 2 we didn’t do any school.

Back at school we had a theme week. Every week in lock down we had a theme week. We also had Google meetings and on Fridays we all had to dress up. In one week we had to pick a famous person and I chose Beethoven. The teachers said their favorite dress up was my Beethoven.

Lockdown started on 25 March and ended on 27 of April. Now we are in week 8 and have 4 weeks left at school. After 4 weeks of online learning we finally got back to school. At first when we went into lockdown I was kind of scared because I wouldn’t see my friends in a long time.

In conclusion I think lockdown learning was one of my best experiences ever!
